Our Year of Weddings...Well 5 months of crazieness...

Well, i did say this blogging thing is new to me and i can't make any great promises about frequency, but since it has now been over a month since my last post, things can only get better...onto a new post...

It was quite some time ago now that we discovered that 2010 was going to be really busy for us as a young family. The first 7 months of the year was going to include 4 weddings, holy communion and confirmation, friends 40th birthdays, soccer carnivals, etc. etc. The fun was about to begin.

First up was my brother-in-laws wedding in Sydney, so we booked our flights (national travel makes things so much more familiar and simple), found some great deals on accommodation and started planning our holiday.

We travelled down and had a marvellous time exploring the rocks, enjoying some great food and all inclusive breakfasts, pounded the pavement at circular quay, walked around the Opera House taking many photo opportunities and travelled on a ferry to Darling Harbour. We caught the monorail through the city and fought blisters on our 5 year old's feet and let me say that the train from the airport was fabulous for our arrival.

I must now take time to commend the bride and groom on a wonderful wedding and venue. The reception was outstanding in location and service as we enjoyed our evening of fun and frivolity at the Museum of Contemporary Art at Circular Quay. They even ducked across the road to get the kids some sausage rolls to enjoy our dinner of fancy delicacies.

...exhibit a...

...hmm, i have never been a big fan of the blog world and just didn't think i would ever catch the bug, god knows, i have tried several times and been surrounded by blog post, after blog post appearing in my inbox, but you know what...life is about experiences and giving things a go, so here i will attempt to share my trials and tribulations of the planning and carrying out of a dream holiday, full of adventure...

It all began on a rainy night back in 1962. I cowered in the corner of my room with a blanket over my head.

...too dramatic?? I agree...let me start again at the beginning.

"Wow Mum, isn't it great, Adrian has finally found the one."
"I know, I know a wedding in Croatia - bit far to go really, but it should be lovely for those who can make it, pitty that won't be us!"
"What did you say, Dad said we could go? All of us?? (excitement building) WOOHOO!!!"

I think at that point i danced around the house, rang my husband and stat, raced to my trusty computer to google CROATIA ACCOMMODATION...

Villas for 10 in Croatia - it's a minefield of beauty and picturesque images, with some interesting pronounciation and creative english text thrown in there, so when i am looking for who knows when in who knows where i got a bit carried away and very bloody lost! i really had no idea of any details, so i was very randomly searching for that elusive top spot to stay??

...awaiting the next installment of details was my next mission...i never have been a patient waiter...
